Yes indeed. Wealth should not determine what your ear hears.
"Jimi is God!"
Just ask the Axis. He knows everything. The greatest
guitarist that ever walked the planet. Axis: Bold As Love is one of my
fave albums, but anything by Jimi Hendrix you should buy.
Whole lotta Led
Jones, Plant, Page and Bonham. Their impact on rock music is unquestionable. Led Zeppelin II, IV and Physical Graffiti are must-haves.
Raisin girl
So unique, so full of passion and quite the performer.
Having seen Tori Amos thrice, I have to say that hearing songs like
Leather and Carbon live is the kind of thing that makes life worth
living. From Little Earthquakes to The Beekeeper, every album is worth
owning. And Welcome To Sunny Florida has to rate as one of the best
live music DVDs ever.
You've got to believe
If it wasn't for Lenny getting there first, I'd be The
Minister Of Rock 'n' Roll! I remember...Monday 17th June 2002;
22:59: Lenny Kravitz and his amazing band are performing a searing Fly
Away with the band briefly pausing for the whole of Wembley Arena to
echo the response "I want to get away!".
Awesome.
Be sure to listen to Let Love Rule, Are You Gonna Go My Way?, 5, Lenny and Baptism.
Go steady on!
Shawn Colvin's album A Few Small Repairs has been one of those huge discoveries you might have in your life. Amazing songwritng and musicianship. Not only that, but her other albums are ace as well. Steady On, Cover Girl, Fat City and the most recently Whole New You are well worth getting your mitts on.
When you've made your secret journey...
...you will be a holy man. Andy Summers, Sting and
founder Stewart Copeland were The Police. One of my all time fave
bands, they were so unique and original in their own use of space and
timing. Andy Summers is a guitar hero and also a friend of
ours(!). From Outlandos to Synchronicity, they were on it as a band.
The last truly great all-conquering rock band.
